Happiness is your birthright. – Yogi Bhajan
WHAT IS KUNDALINI YOGA?
Kundalini is the yoga of awareness. Using the breath (pranayama), mudra (hand positions), and dristi (eye focus) you will cleanse and strengthen the mind, body, and spirit. There will be sacred chants; when we consciously regulate the sounds we make through the use of mantra, breath, and rhythm, we produce profound positive effects for our well-being. Kundalini yoga is a process and an experience. Sometimes it takes 4 or more classes before you begin to feel your your energy shift. Eventually, a profound sense of stillness and peace will wash over you. This connection will never leave you. It is common for individuals to dress in white because it represents the highest vibrational energy and to cover your head with a scarf to contain the kundalini energy, though you are welcomed to dress however you feel comfortable.
“Kundalini yoga uses the sound vibrations to affect the body, mind, and spirit through the movement of the tongue, the mouth, and changes the chemicals in the brain.”- Dharma Singh Khalsa, M.D.
“Medical Mediation (kundalini yoga) surpasses the more mundane forms of meditation, I believe because it more fully addresses every element of our physical and ethereal makeup. It is, to put it plainly, a more full-service approach. It nurtures every aspect of our being.”
“In kundalini yoga meditation, each medical meditation channels healing energy so precisely, each meditation has a sharp focus. Each medical meditation solves a distinct, specific problem by bringing energy to targeted organs, glands, and systems, and also to the specific areas of the ethereal body, known as the chakras.”
Kundalini Yoga develops the power of the intuitive mind. It is known for sacred chant music which is intertwined in classes. When we consciously regulate the sounds we make through the use of mantra, breath, and rhythm, we will produce profound effects on our health and well-being. It will bring us clarity, love, compassion, and connection that will last days after class.
