WHAT IS YOGA?

Yoga is “to come together”, “to unite”, “to tie the strands of the mind together” “to attain what was previously unattainable” “acting in such a way that all of our attention is directed toward the activity in which we are currently engaged.” “to be one with the divine” Yoga attempts to create a state in which we are ALWAYS present-really present- in every action and moment.

I teach yoga because I want others to recognize the divinity that resides in each of us and all around us. To help you connect to your true self, and the universe so that you can live life to the fullest, happily and compassionately. To help you learn to be here now, releasing stress, and negative samaskaras (samaskaras are deeply rooted, negative behavioral patterns.), to know and find that it is possible to burn out old habits through yoga. To focus the mind on the present and heal, to live fully and compassionately for ourselves and all living beings!

Yoga is a 5,000+ year old tradition. Yoga is harmonizing the breath with the body and mind, through pranayama (controlled breathing exercise, asanas (poses and meditaiton), and dristi (point of focus)
